​The Apprentice winner triumphs at Yorkshire Young Achievers Awards 30th anniversary

The Apprentice winner Rachel Woolford, who owns North Studio (Harrogate), was recognised in the Yorkshire Young Achievers Awards. She was presented with an award for Achievement in Management and Enterprise at the 30th annual Yorkshire Young Achievers Awards by Jan Fletcher OBE.

Mera Expands Credit Line by £150m To Invest in £250m of Prime UK Real Estate

Mera Investment Management, the family office owned specialist real estate funder, has today announced it will look to deploy £150 million of private capital to fund or invest in £250 million of prime UK real estate over the next 18 months.

​Months of speculation around the proposed abolition of the non-dom tax status, which was confirmed in the Budget, had already led many High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs) to leave the UK in favour of lower tax jurisdictions, including Dubai, Switzerland and Italy. This has resulted in an influx of prime residential properties coming on to the market, particularly in Prime Central London, the sales of which will be buoyed by the recent interest rate reduction. The US election could also boost demand for high-value properties, with a strong dollar supporting a mobilisation of capital into London and real estate agents have already reported receiving an influx of enquiries from US buyers in the wake of Trump’s election victory.

​Joining the Board are Jan Fletcher OBE, Dipesh Mistry and Fiona Robinson.

​The Foundation makes grants to individuals and organisations across Yorkshire, raising money through the annual Yorkshire Young Achievers Awards which celebrate their 30th anniversary this year.

YORKSHIRE YOUNG ACHIEVERS AWARDS

Stacey Burrows of Articulate Speech, Drama and Casting was awarded the Yorkshire Young Achievement in Management and Enterprise Award in front of 360 guests at the Leeds United Centenary Pavilion. Stacey received the award from Jan Fletcher OBE, for her business which has changed the lives of hundreds of young people across the region.

The awards mark the achievements of young people in seven categories, from the arts to sport. Organised by the Yorkshire Young Achievers Foundation, the annual event has now raised more than £1.3m to support young people in Yorkshire. 

Chairman of the Awards Peter McCormick OBE said: “Every year we are astonished, inspired and, frequently, moved to tears by the amazing stories of our winners whose achievements underline the depth and breadth of the quality of the young people in our region.

MERA IM SECURES INVESTMENT FROM UK FAMILY OFFICE

For the second consecutive year Bee Health has been named in the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200. The UK’s leading vitamin and supplement manufacturer is ranked at No 108 and is one of only twenty north-east companies listed. The annual league table ranks Britain’s mid-market private companies with the fastest-growing international sales. 
 
Yorkshire-based Bee Health’s overseas sales grew by an average of 37% per annum over the two years to 2019, with the company now selling to 40 countries.
